The index appears when the insert is unfolded.

In addition to the producers, their plant locations as well as their capacities, the data base also includes a concise account on the chemistry, technology and applications of the following high heat thermoplastics
  • Sulfone polymers (PSU, PESU & PPSU)
  • Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS)
  • Imide polymers (PEI & PI)
  • Polyaryletherketones (PAEK, PEEK & PEK)
  • Polybenzimidazole (PBI)
  • Liquid crystal polymers (LCP)

  • A method of comparing polymers for continuous use at relatively high temperatures, is the Underwriters Laboratory (UL) Relative Thermal Index (RTI). By high heat polymers, it is meant polymers which can withstand a continuous use at 150C (Ref:UL746B).
The polymers enumerated above are the only ones which fulfill this requirement. Despite their aromatic constituents, PPA's have to be reinforced and stabilised when used in applications requiring resistance to heat. But even so, their continuous use temperature does not exceed 130C according to UL 746B

The outer cd insert of an edition of the cd-book is shown below

The inner side of the cd-insert, shown below, exposes the contents of
an edition, not necessarily the most recent one, of the article/data base published on cd-r.

The data shown below are not necessarily recent.
They just give an idea on the layout of the data base.
