In addition to the producers, their plant locations as
well as their capacities, the data base also includes a concise account on the chemistry, technology and applications of the
following high heat thermoplastics |
A method of comparing polymers for continuous use at relatively high temperatures, is the
Underwriters Laboratory (UL) Relative Thermal Index (RTI).
By high heat polymers, it is meant polymers which can withstand a continuous use at 150°C (Ref:UL746B). The polymers enumerated above are the only ones which fulfill this requirement. Despite their aromatic constituents, PPA's have to be reinforced and stabilised when used in applications requiring resistance to heat. But even so, their continuous use temperature does not exceed 130°C according to UL 746B |
